This policy explains what information Can My Dog Eat It? (canmydogeatit.com) collects when you visit, and what I do with it. I try to collect as little as possible.
What I collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting company records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. This is used to run and protect the site.
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to see which pages people visit and which searches find them. These tools can use cookies and collect information such as your approximate location, device and how you moved through the site. I don’t try to identify individual visitors.
- Nothing you type. This site has no accounts, comments or sign-up forms, so I don’t collect names, email addresses or anything else you’d have to type in.
Cookies and third parties
Analytics, and any advertising or affiliate links I add later, may set their own cookies or collect information under their own policies. I don’t control that. I’ll update this page before I add advertising or affiliate links.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to other websites, including ASPCA, Pet Poison Helpline, Open Food Facts and the USDA. Once you leave this site, that site’s policy applies, not mine.
Children
This site is about dogs and is meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because I use Google Analytics, you can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Changes
If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top.
